🏢 About Services SETA – Strategy & Insights

The Strategy and Insights Unit plays a critical role in guiding national skills development through:

  • Research and labour market analysis
  • Evaluation of Workplace Skills Plans (WSPs) and Annual Training Reports (ATRs)
  • Strategic planning and compliance monitoring
  • Qualifications development and chamber operations

Interns in this unit support evidence-based decision-making that shapes funding, policy, and workforce planning across South Africa.


🧾 Internship Responsibilities

🔹 Research & Strategy Support

Interns will assist with:

  • Conducting research aligned to Services SETA initiatives
  • Supporting the development of workplace skills planning strategies
  • Compiling and presenting research findings in reports and presentations
  • Supporting verification of performance information

🔹 WSP & ATR Evaluation

Key duties include:

  • Assisting with evaluation of Workplace Skills Plans (WSPs)
  • Reviewing Annual Training Reports (ATRs)
  • Conducting compliance audits
  • Supporting monitoring and evaluation processes

🔹 Qualifications Development & Chamber Operations

Interns will:

  • Provide administrative support in qualifications development processes
  • Maintain documentation related to qualification updates
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in the development of learning programmes
  • Support Chamber Operations meetings and events
  • Coordinate communication between chambers and stakeholders

🔹 Project & Administrative Support

Responsibilities also include:

  • Supporting strategic projects and initiatives
  • Organising databases, spreadsheets, and documentation
  • Scheduling meetings and managing calendars
  • Compiling agendas and collating meeting minutes
  • Tracking project milestones and deadlines
  • Processing travel documentation
  • Handling correspondence and enquiries
  • Maintaining confidentiality and proper document management

🎓 Minimum Requirements

📘 Qualification Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • National Senior Certificate (Matric / NQF Level 4)
    AND
  • National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in one of the following:
    • Internal Audit
    • Business Management / Business Administration
    • Human Resource Management
    • Public Administration / Public Management
    • Monitoring and Evaluation
    • Social Sciences or Research-related qualification
