About the Finance Internship

The Finance Unit at Services SETA plays a critical role in ensuring financial accountability, compliance, and effective use of public funds.

As a Finance Intern, you will gain exposure to:

Key Responsibilities

🔹 Financial Reporting & Accounting Support

Interns will assist with:

  • Compiling financial statements and reports
  • Processing journal entries and reconciliations
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable
  • Monitoring cash flow and financial transactions
  • Maintaining accurate financial records

🔹 Invoice & Supply Chain Support

Duties include:

  • Verifying supporting documents for invoices
  • Processing invoices and payments timeously
  • Creating purchase orders
  • Assisting with supply chain management processes
  • Compiling weekly invoice processing reports

🔹 Audit & Compliance

Interns will:

  • Support internal and external audit activities
  • Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation
  • Assist with regulatory compliance and internal controls
  • Address audit-related queries

🔹 Administrative & Operational Support

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Managing finance-related queries
  • Data capturing and record maintenance
  • Maintaining a clear and up-to-date filing system
  • Assisting with general administrative duties
  • Participating in training, workshops, and mentorship programmes
  • Supporting special finance projects as assigned

Minimum Requirements

📘 Qualification Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • National Senior Certificate (Matric / NQF Level 4)
    AND
  • National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in:
    • Finance
    • Commerce
    • Accounting or related field

Skills & Competencies Gained

Successful interns will develop:
