It also operates internationally and is regarded as one of South Africa’s top graduate employers.

About the Discovery Internship Programme

The Discovery Internship Programme is a structured 12-month paid development programme for unemployed graduates and young professionals.

Since launching in 2006, the programme has supported over 480 graduates, with more than 70% securing permanent roles after completion. Interns work alongside high-performing teams, gain hands-on experience, and develop both professional and personal skills in a fast-paced corporate environment.

For 2026, interns will be placed within the Group Life Operations team, supporting key administrative and operational functions such as:

  • Underwriting support
  • Group Employee Benefits (GEP) administration
  • Claims processing (including lump sum and disability claims)
  • Billing and back-office operations
  • Service delivery and operational accuracy

This exposure gives interns a strong foundation in group life insurance and financial services operations.
