About the Apprenticeship
The Fitter & Turner Apprentice Programme is designed to develop qualified artisans capable of supporting production through:
- Equipment maintenance
- Mechanical installations
- Fault-finding and troubleshooting
Apprentices will complete all required trade theory modules and practical training in line with industry standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Apprentices will be expected to:
- Complete all required Fitter & Turner trade theory modules
- Achieve pass rates for Trade Theory 1, 2, and 3
- Participate in intensive on-the-job and technical training
- Perform routine quality checks according to the quality plan
- Support production by ensuring equipment availability
- Carry out mechanical maintenance and installations safely
- Apply problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ensure adherence to quality and safety standards
- Complete required documentation and reports
- Follow all plant rules, regulations, and safety procedures
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet all of the following:
- Minimum N3 Mechanical Engineering qualification
- Mathematics and Physical Science (compulsory subjects)
- Basic mechanical understanding
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Basic computer literacy
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Team-oriented and well-organised
- Positive attitude with ability to use initiative
- Willingness to work overtime and shifts when required
