The State Information Technology Agency (SITA) is inviting applications from unemployed South African youth for the 2025/26 ICT Internship Programme. If you have an ICT-related qualification and want hands-on experience with a major government technology organisation, this is an excellent opportunity.

About the SITA Internship Programme

This programme provides practical workplace training to young graduates who want to build their careers in the ICT sector. Interns will work on real projects, receive mentorship, and gain experience in various IT environments. After successful completion, participants may be considered for future roles within SITA depending on performance and organisational needs.

Important: Preference will be given to candidates who reside in the relevant province.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Be a South African citizen aged 18–35
  • Be currently unemployed
  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree or 3-year National Diploma in ICT (or equivalent NQF Level 6 qualification)
  • Have no previous work experience
  • Belong to one of these groups (as per SITA’s EE targets):
    • People with disabilities
    • White, Coloured, Indian applicants
  • Not have applied for the December 2024 SITA Internship advert
