Who meets the internship eligibility requirements?

- Be South African citizens
- Be between 18 and 35 years old
- Be unemployed
- Have completed the qualification required for the selected position
- Be available for the full 24-month programme
- Submit all the requested supporting documents
- Use the correct reference number
Applicants awaiting their qualification certificates may still be considered. However, they must provide an academic transcript and a letter confirming successful completion of their studies.
Who will not be considered for these internships?
Applicants who have previously participated in an internship programme will not be considered.
This restriction applies to any previous internship programme, not only internships completed within Provincial Treasury.
If it is discovered after appointment that a candidate previously completed an internship, the department may terminate the new internship contract immediately.
Itumeleng’s Insider Tip: Match the qualification wording on your certificate or academic transcript with the requirements for your chosen reference number. If you qualify for more than one position, prepare a separate Z83 form and supporting application for each reference number instead of combining them.
Which documents must accompany each application?
Every application must include:
- A completed new Z83 application form
- A detailed curriculum vitae
- A certified copy of the applicant’s South African identity document
- Certified copies of academic qualifications
- An academic transcript
- A completion letter if the final qualification certificate has not been issued
Applicants who need assistance completing the form can use this new Z83 application form guide.
Candidates submitting applications for Ramotshere Local Municipality placements must also include:
- Proof of residence
Incomplete applications may not be considered.
Why must candidates prepare separate applications?
A separate application is required for every position selected.
Each application should contain its own:
- Completed Z83 form
- Curriculum vitae
- Supporting documents
- Correct reference number
Candidates should not list multiple reference numbers on a single Z83 form. Separate submissions make it easier for the relevant selection panel to assess each application correctly.
How can applications be submitted?
Applications can be submitted by post, hand delivery or email.
Postal applications must be addressed to:
Director: Human Resource Management
Department of Provincial Treasury
Private Bag X2060
Mmabatho
2735
Hand-delivered applications can be taken to:
Ga-Rona Building
East Wing
Car Wash Entrance
Email applications must be sent to:
The relevant reference number should be clearly stated in the email subject line and on the Z83 application form.
When is the submission deadline?
Applications close on 24 July 2026 at 15:00.
Candidates should submit well before the deadline, particularly when using postal delivery. Late applications will not be accepted.
